I am a graduate of the University of California, Merced with a Bachelor's Degree in Management & Business Economics and minor in Professional Writing. During my time there I competed in four years of collegiate cross country, a continuation of my four years of competitive running in high school, and have since completed three marathons and three half marathons. From December 2017 to August 2019 I was a member of AmeriCorps serving at the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, working under their Volunteer Services Coordinator to recruit volunteers and improve their volunteer program. While serving in AmeriCorps I also participated in leading volunteer events alongside my fellow AmeriCorps members, ranging from packing food boxes at the OC Food Bank to a two-day service project beautifying the campus of the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission in Indio. I have always had a passion for history, trains and travel, thanks in large part to my family’s annual vacations to Oregon, Utah and the High Sierras. My travel bug led me to complete a semester abroad in New Zealand, a life-changing experience, and that trip has in-part inspired me to one day visit Japan and eventually Europe. I continue to use my time here to not just grow professionally, but also personally and work towards achieving my life goals.
